Left Coast Crossfit

This is the design work for a New Crossfit gym opening in Laguna Hills. LCCF stands for Left Coast Crossfit. They wanted a "Casual" & "Laid-back" & "Modern" surfer feel mixed with the "edgy" & "rough" Crossfit tone. This is a hard combination to find in a nautical theme... It seems that anchors could fit both. So I did some research on anchors and most of the look really simple and boring... So what I ended up doing is combining some of the tools of Crossfit (like box jumps & kettlebells) with a lame anchor to create an icon more true to the progressive program like crossfit. This logo uses the bulkiness and roughness of a box and blends in with the curves of the kettlebell while holding the frame of an anchor.
